When a person writes a story they have a title that they use. Well if that person changes it to something else, what is the term used for the old one? Do you know?

Working title?

I agree with Steve B-- the old title was your working title.

Although since the titles are often just between you, your word processor, and perhaps your editor, it shouldn't really be a point that bothers you, unless the title has gone beyond that circle. Even still, unless a publisher is involved, you should feel free to change a title without much fanfare.
