snoring, nails on a chalk board, rap and pop music, certain laughs and giggles, and the sound cotton balls make when you rub them *shudders*

That deep, booming bass drum sound on a lot of rap music. As a performing musician, I remember how hard drummers worked to actually mute their drums (especially the bass) to get a "tight" sound. Now I can hear a car coming several blocks away, sounding like a bass drum in a marching band.
