It's kind of hard to stand up to the government with missing legs.

I didn't know that they were!!!
I feel that because I"m a veteran I have more of a right to speak-up about our government than non veterans do. I'm proud to have lived my life in this country and also proud of the fact that I was able to serve my country for seven years during the Vietnam era! What me and other Vets have done gives you the right to get on here and say whatever you want, even if it is not the truth!
I'd bet money on what kind of man you are!!!
Have a nice day!!

We have earned the right to botch about anything we like. We've shown a willingness to take up arms to defend that which we believe in. What makes you think we would sit around wringing our hands if we had something to say? Try attacking our country and see who jumps on you first. What do you think the veteran population should say about the government? Are you assuming that they agree with you but are unwilling to say so? If you shared the same opinions as the majority of veterans then you would have put on the uniform.
Why don't more librals join the military? Do they start out as cowards?

All the Veterans I know have a lot to say about the government. Mostly good things, but like all Americans they complain about taxes too. While you don't say it, I am assuming you think their are a great many veterans that have something bad to say about the government, and the reason why you aren't hearing from them is because their are not many of them that feel that way, only a small vocal minority.

Lots of veterans speak out, on both sides of the argument.
But since you've asked, many of us do not share the opinion that what is going on is essentially wrong, just poorly handled in parts. The bad guys are on the run (seen any terr attacks on US soil in the past six years?) and we are fighting them in THEIR back yard, not ours.
A democratic Iraq scares the bejeezus out of all Central Asia, many of those nations were completely freaked out when we invaded. We defeated a 500,000-strong army, the largest and best equipped in the Middle East, in 21 days.
As a result of this, Libya and Syria both came to the bargaining table. Syria has pulled out of occupied Lebanon, and Libya's long isolation has ended with their payment of damages for the Lockerbie Scotland atrocity.
There has not been an American casualty in Fallujah, once Al Qaeda in Iraq's stronghold, in over two months.
We don't speak out the way you want us to because maybe, just maybe, many of us believe that what we are doing is right, and that we are winning.

Most veterans like myself believe in what we did while serving, you make it sound as if we hate our government, and no we are not afraid to voice any opinions.Where did you get any such notion? If anything we are a very outspoken group and love the United States dearly and it`s government!!!
