I don't know about Limewire, but if you want to listen to free music online, try Pandora. It's pretty neat. You type in a title or artist, it will play a sample to make sure they found the right one, then it will play similar kinds of music. I've found all kinds of great new artists that way.

I know what you mean, if you are talking about importing music from your CD's and such into the Limewire player. That would not be illegal. However, it would be illegal to be having those files available for other people to upload. If you are just looking for a player, use Windows Media Player, Winamp, or even ITunes can be downloaded for free and used as a music player. All 3 much better than Limewire.

think twice if you want to join those free download site, it is illegal and come with lot of virus
you can do the same as me, join as a Napster, they only charge $9 per month with unlimited music download.
Most importantly that Napster is legal which you have no more worry and virus free.
They currently have the 7 days FREE trial for music download. You should give it a try. If you don't like it, join the free trial and download music you need for the 7 days and cancel it later with no fee.

I believe the loophole with downloading music is that it's perfect legal to download music, as long as you only keep it for 24 hours. The 24 hour timeframe gives you the chance to demo the music to decide weither you want to purchase the album or not. If you keep it past the 24 hour time frame, then it's considered to be theft.

You'd have to download the music first to be able to listen to it...so it's still illegal.

I heard thats its more illegal to upload music to other peoples computers then it is to actually listen to the music...im sure both ways are illegal though and would be safe when using it, try not to share it. less ways for them to find out you have music if they ever look.

it's definately not illegal to go to Youtube or MTV or something and listen to music because you have not bypassed paying for the song, you are just enjoying it temporarily. And you are not the "owner" of it, you're taking part in other people's music.

Honestly, use iTunes or Media Player to legally buy songs for 99 cents. At least you're not buying a whole CD and only liking three songs.

because if you download you can put it on CDs and sell it to other people, which is still illegal, but also if you downloaded it you can put it on other things like your ipod
