I am reading 'The Odyssey' and one of the characters is a cyclopse. I am just wondering what a 3 eyed one would be called.

No, it would probably be triops as ops is the root for eye.

An interesting aside, cyclopes was probably created to explain a mammoth skull viewed from the front. The skull looks like a human one but has a single hole in the center.

Funnily enough, cyclops (note the spelling) doesn't mean 'one eye' it means 'round eyed'. It is possible that someone with three eyes could be called a triclops though.

Edit - Prirate AM™ has it right. It would actually be triops.

yes. as a two eyed person would be called a bi-clopse.

i believe it is triclopse or a cyclopse cubed :P
