Hello everyone!

For a project due in school, I need to come up with the significance of the title for the book 'The Hobbit'. So far, I have

"The title ‘The Hobbit’ was the chosen title for this book, primarily because Bilbo Baggins, the protagonist, is a hobbit. A hobbit is about half the size of an average sized man. He is an honorable, honest hobbit. A hobbit is about half the size of an average sized man."

it should be at least another 3 sentences long. Can anyone help me? It would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!! :D

This is meant to help. First, you need to think about what the word "significance" means. Then jot down your answers to the question, why did the writer choose THIS title instead of something else? You'll probably be surprised at how quickly a paragraph comes together.
Your first sentence fits, but the others really don't apply.
(I'd also use a thesaurus to find another word for "protagonist" - since that's not exactly a common-place word. )

Dang, tha'ts wordy. "Chosen title"? makes it sound like a contest.

Protagonist seems to be too little of what is needed. "He's the main character and his life, his ideas and ideals are all tested and refashioned in this epic tale of a small person's abilities in a larger than life fantasy world. Though the story covers many lands and many tales, the main character, the Hobbit, is central in their actions and their conclusions. Without his input or his choices in these tales, they would not be the enjoyable tome that it is."
