Here it goes a nice new ring that compliment all she does for you and maybe her birthstone with some diamonds, if she likes music maybe a new ipod, a new cellphone is popular this day and age, a new laptop computer, some diamond studded earrings, a nice chain and a diamond pendant, some concert/opera/theatre tickets, a new sound system for her car, maybe a nice day at the spa, Romantic weekend getaway, some new clothes or a new jacket, perfume, a bunch of clinique products, lingerie like a comfy set of pajamas something for her not you, Really a grand could by her a lot of stuff if you use your imagination your could get something huge or get a number of smaller things remember most woman love gifts so the more they get the happier they are so consider that when your shopping and also consider that the gifts should be for her nothing for you. Except for those thong under wear you been gaucking at when you have been shopping.

Well, a leather coat would be nice, with beautiful cashmere gloves and a matching hat. Women love clothes.
Or you could just get her jewelry. She'd love that.
Or a nice little weekend get away that is VERY romantic (rose petals on the bed etc.)
It depends what she likes. If she loves to read and write, get her a book and a beautiful leather journal.
I think that it would be cute to do a 12 days of Christmas thing counting down to Christmas day, and starting 12 days before.
You don't have to follow the song, but it would be cute to get cards depicting the 12 days, one for each day.
Start with something smaller, and then give her the most special present on Christmas Day.
I don' t know your wife, but all women love to be pampered. Maybe do a couples spa thing.
And get her a special ornament for the tree, a hand blown glass one.

You know your wife, what is she into. Is she into bags, clothes, diamonds, vacations? Think about what makes your wife excited, and another thing is if you have heard her say she wish she wanted a certain thing then buy it. Another thing is women love when men come to them and offer to buy anything they want, tell her you are taking her on a shopping trip and she can buy anything she wants, that you are making it a day just for her, make sure at the end of it all you end with spa trip to massage those aching legs after walking around the mall like 3 times lol.

One year I bought my wife a heart shaped diamond, and had them put it into the center of a heart shaped gold setting. It cost a little over 1k. I don't particularly care for jewelery any more, so I try to do other things.

If you can't think of a way to spend a grand on your wife, you don't know her very well do you?
What does she like, what makes her eyes sparkle? Use some imagination.
I had a total of $200 to spend on my love and managed to get him 3 things that will make him very happy.
