diaries? surely some kind of writing implement was invented 3000 years after the building of the sphinx and the pyramids, and surely somebody as magical as Jesus Christ would have kept a diary. Where is the evidence that Jesus ever existed at all?

We know that the great pyramid exists because we can see it (it was the tallest man made structure on Earth for 3500 years)

if you don't want to believe that is your choice - if you want evidence, open your mind and heart, you may be surprised

The pyramids are actually 'cemetary stones'. Not a diary. Jesus doesn't need a headstone because He arose.

It has always intrigued me that the egyptians, who lived by and through the river (with its ebb and flow of life, food and the cycles of nature) became obsessed with "death". Absolutely nuts about it. Of course, symbolically, that is all they could do; as they were zombies and NOT chosen by the Most High God. So, they used all the magic, witchcraft and wiles of the mind they had to try to re gain immortality (immortality having been lost in the garden of Eden - which, btw - is the "if you eat of it, you shall surely die" part of God's warning.

And, as posted, if I am the pharoah (living in the big house); then, that stack of rocks is magnificent. If, however, I am one of the hundreds of thousands of slaves and dirt poor workers who built the thing - I despise the pile of rocks and the pharoah !!

Moreover, I believe that the pyramids were also a "fallout shelter" that is, the pharoah and some of his family; could hunker down in it, if God ever sent another great flood. Its shape is perfect for the massive water pressure that would bear on it.

How can you conclude that ..."surely, He (sic) would have kept a diary"?? !! Why, His story wasn't even recorded by third parties, till several years after His ascension.

As posted, some noted historians have written of the historicity of Jesus and His Life, Death and Resurrection HAS split 'our time' into B.C and A.D. To me, this is so profound and self evident of His greatness and impact upon earth that it is a shame that we do not speak of it more often.

You should realize that the pyramids were built by intellectuals whereas Jesus preached to the illiterate. I am not religious but you are comparing apples and oranges. There was a Jewish writer that became a Roman named Flavius Josephus. He wrote a short note about the existence of Jesus and his is the only reference to Christ other than that of the bible. Still, it is proof that Jesus existed even if you do not want to believe in his holiness.

I'm sorry I don't usually reply to these as there is little point but... There is no reason why Jesus would have kept a diary.. If he had no more or less people would have believed. And secondly the gospels are widely regarded as some of the most historically accurate documents in existence from that time.

Abraham Lincoln said that the greatest gift God has given man is the Bible. It is the written record you refer to and it is the oldest book in history. Have you read it? Matthew, Mark, Luke and John would be a good place. It covers the 33 years of his life on earth.

Secular history refers to Jesus:
Jewish historian Josephus (not a Christian) refered to the stoning to death of "James, the brother of Jesus who was called the Christ."

Tacitus, a Roman historian who lived during the latter part of the first century wrote that the name Christian had its origin from Christ. The New Encyclopedia Britannica states: "These independent accounts prove that in ancient times even the opponents of Chritianity never doubted the historisity of Jesus, which was disputed for the first time and on inadequate grounds by several authors at the end of the 18th, during the 19th and at the beginning of the 10th centuries." Vol 10, p.145

Evidence within the Bible:
Hundreds of prophecies were written to identify him; where he was to be born, facets of his life, his death and resurrection. If you wish I will send you a list. These prophecies were written over a long time span yet he fulfilled every one. Over 500 persons actually saw Jesus alive following his resurrection and there were eye-witnesses who witnessed his ascention to heaven. So convinced they were of what they saw that they risked their lives to tell others about it.

The strongest proof of the existence of Jesus is in his teachings and his prophecies. Matthew 24: 1,2 he told his disciples, referring to the Jewish temple, that "by no means will a stone be left here upon a stone and not be thown down."
In the year 70 CE the armies of Rome attacked the city and raized the temple, pulling it down just as he said. The rest of the 24th chapter of Matthew describes events occuring in our day and the near future.

You know that the king himself didn't build the sphinx or paramid. He made his slaves build them for him. So why would you expect Jesus Christ, King Of Kings, to write his own diary? There are historical writings of Christ. Today we label it as the Bible. He had his disciples write them just as the King of Egypt had is slaves write his. So I guess I wonder why you're willing to believe the writings of Egypt yet you deny the writings of Christ, The Holy Bible. I guess it's your choice, your own free will in which God has granted us all. You ever wonder what the meaning of B.C. and A.D. means regarding years and how we the people depict our history. It amazes me that people don't realize what those initials mean and that they divide our timeline according to Christs birth and death. Good Luck & God Bless!

Belief in Jesus is not necessary to know that he lived.

There are many sources (Roman and Greek) that are not religious writings that refer to him and his followers.

The romans have an record of his execution for sedition.
