I think so...as a symbol to what might have been. The Vikings retired Stringers number.

i'm about 99% sure that they will, and if they dont "retire" the number, they will atleast display his name and number with the rest of the retired numbers, (some teams have those "ceremonial numbers" and i doubt any future player would wear it anytime soon.

I think that they definitely will retire his number. Being a Redskins fan and living in the DC area, I can tell you that this has been pretty rough for us. He was a true Redskin...hard hitting, tough as nails, and never willing to go down without a fight. He had his troubles but he had turned a corner for the best and was making positive changes in his life...something that didnt get as much press as his previous altercations with the law. He is already missed and it will be impossible to replace him. Out of respect and as a lifelong memorial, his number will be retired.

Sean had some very real problems that cast his team in poor light. However, all accounts are that he was well on his way to turning his life around after the birth of his daughter (I think she is nearly a year old now). I am not sure "retiring" his number is called for. He was an outstanding player in some regards, but was often unpredictable and erratic. However, they should memorialize his contributions in some way.

Yeah his number should be retired. Sean was the pilot light on the stove that heated the food so our defensive could eat.... Now our team is eating a cold hard meal.

Sean Taylor was my favorite player on the team.

Daniel Snyder is kind of a prude and it would be very uncharacteristic of him to do something like that under the violent circumstances in which Sean Taylor died.

Had Taylor died in a car accident or something of that nature then I could possibly see Snyder honoring Taylor.
