It is asking a question so it needs a question mark.

Hmmm...It is a question but not put down quite property in my opinion. Don't start a question with the word *however*. Take that off it completely. Something like.....Why does one mistake jeopardize a players career when he or she put so much into becoming an outstanding player???

I recommend this...

"Why does one mistake jeopardize a player's career?"

Plain and simple.

Or...

"When a player puts in excessive time to become an outstanding player, why does on mistake jeopardize their career?"

I don't like your sentence beginning with "however". That indicates that you are making a point, not asking a question.

The above are correct (question mark). It's also good practice not to begin a sentence with "however" in this context. You can:

1. Embed the however between commas in the interior of the sentence, typically right before the verb

2 .Begin the sentence with "But"

You can begin a sentence with however, like this: However you look at the problem, no solution exists.

Well it would be a ? for proper grammer, but if stated as a rhetorical question that a period is best.

Lose the S on the end of jeopardizes

Since it is a question...it would end with a question mark.

you need more than just a question mark, dear.....jeopardize and a comma before when would make more sense.
