He arrived in town as a famous European racecar driver when they were doing all the car racing stuff. When Max was a rich and famous racecar driver/playboy. When Stephanie was a famous girl racecar driver. They had a big 3-way rivalry for awhile before dropping the whoe racecar thing altogether to make EJ a businessman, Max a mechanic/bartender and Stephanie a stewardess/coed.
It wasn't until EJ had been on the show for months that they revealed who he really was. Sami always asked him what EJ stood for, but he'd never tell her. They really didn't make as big a deal about it as I thought they would have. It was just another day on Days.
I've been watching Days for close to 20 years and I think it's terrific how they brought him back after so many years. I'd totally forgotten all about Elvis Jr and Susan's crazy character (was she Wells?).

He just came back into town one day and no one knew who is was for the longest time. They never really explained things. If they did I missed it.

I don't know exactly cuz I started watching it again after he had returned but my oh my I love the show now. I am in love with that man. he is so gorgeous! ooooh and that british accent too sooooo sexy :)
