I am starting to trust what critics and reviews have to say about things like movies and videogames. If they say a movie is bad, I trust them enough and try my best to avoid that movie, if they say it's good, I'll go watch it, what about games, everyone has different tastes. The thing is they're professionals, and this is literally what they do for a living, what do you all think?

It depends. It's sort of like taking a friend's advice on something. There are reviewers who have simliar taste to me, and so I give what they say some value, but it won't make or break my decision to go to a movie. It might be their job, but when you come down to it, it's all subjective. You could be missing out on some great stuff all because the masses don't get it and so reviewed it poorly. There have been lots of movies that were received bad reviews, but went on to become classics - cult or real cinematic giants. The Wizard of Oz was crucified by critics when it came out, so be careful how much value you place on reviews.

On the whole though, I don't listen to most at all because they give away WAY too much of the movie, and that's just rude.

The vast majority of the time, I disagree with movie reviews. I've seen many good movies only to find out later that they've got nothing but bad reviews from critics, or heard that a movie was great, only to think it stunk. I think you should base it more on your own opinion based on the trailers or general description or whatever, than what critics say. I think, for the most part, that they're overly critical.

I do, however, tend to agree with them more on video games. I won't disreguard a game just cause it was badly reviewed, but game critics do tend to be more accurate than movie critics, at least in my opinion.

There are movie critics whose opinion is on the same path as mine so l adhere to them. The flaws l noticed in the film are the same as what they've stated on their columns. However, l still watch a certain film good or bad review given. l happen to like the actor/actress.

I don't trust them. Cause somebody told me that POTC: At Worlds End sucked. I went and watched it and it was awesome! The same thing with HP and the Order of the Phoenix.
