And if so, will the fact that they were caught cheating this season force their legancy to be tainted?

I don't think they will go undefeated.

Just stopped!
They have the chance to go undefeated. They are a good team, but they are far from being a legacy.
The fact that the awful Jets rad on them, doesn't mean that they are the only ones cheating, they were the only ones getting caught. Why do you think that the other coaches just let it go and also the league. So stop making a big deal about it. Tainted legacy, please!
Now, their schedule will allow them to go undefeated. They have shown in two occasions that they can overcome a adverse score.

Philadelphia, who are lousey this year, nearly beat them. They figured out how to pressure their offense and, if nothing else, proved that the Pats aren't invincible.

Pittsburgh is probably the only team left in their regular season schedule who can beat them. So, I'd say that they have as good a chance of finishing the regular season undefeated as any team has ever had.

The New England Patriots* were caught breaking a clearly written rule of competition that was also stressed in the league's summer meetings. The head coach was fined $500,000. The owner was fined $250,000 and the team had a pick in next year's draft taken away. The commissioner of the league admitted that suspension of the head coach had been considered.

As much as I hope they do, I think they may lose a game in the last couple weeks of the season after the starters are resting for the playoffs...

They will go undefeated and the nay-sayers will be drowned out by the thunderous applause. And when you are still crying about it in 5 years people will just look at you like you are crazy.

Pats will not go the distance. Even if they do, cheaters are losers.
