It depends on the contract. There is not enough information in your question for anyone to know.

Try contacting your local EEOC office. Use Google search engine type EEOC and your state. They are better informed then anyone because they deal with employment issue's.

They can't exactly force you to quit, but they can very likely fire you if they want to. You don't say what kind of contract you have, so it's impossible to answer you. If it's a union contract, talk to your union rep.
