ok, the binding on my board for my backfoot will get loose at the screws ever once in a while. i have two theories why this might be. one the angle of my back foot isnt correct for my riding stance, and the second, not enough loc-tite on the screws. please help me!

If you use a good tread locker (like LocTite), this will prevent the binding from ever loosening up. My bindings never get loose. Having a loose binding increases the chance you will break them and it screws up your riding. Tightening the screws every time you ride is also a waste of time.

The other advantage of a thread lock compound is that it will prevent the threads on the screws from rusting so that you can get them out when you need to.

There are two different types of LocTite - the "removable" strength and the "non-removable" strength which is supposed to be used for permanent installations. I use the "removable" kind because the screws are small and you wouldn't want to break one if you ever did need to remove for a broken binding, etc.

Good Luck

Loose Binding

If you spill or get any loctite in contact with the board or binding it can cause the plastic to weaken and crack. I'd recommend trying vibra-tite vc-3. You put it on the screws first and let it dry. Then by the time you install them into the binding inserts they are inert and won't cause any damage. The other good thing is that because the material never gets hard like loctite it can be adjusted easily and even removed and reused a few times.

The loc-tite theory could be correct. But this is common. I Check the screws on my bindings every couple weeks and they get loose from time too time. Unless they shift and get completly loose everytime you ride I wouldnt worry.
