It's the 'cradle of civilization,' and civilization breeds violence on a grand scale.

Seriously, the Middle East is where agriculture first started, and it's been inhabbitted, farmed, and civilized millenia longer than any other region of the globe.

When you think about it, what the middle east is today is likely what the whole world will be in the distant future - a blasted wasteland fought over by religious fanatics.

It has been continuously inhabited for most of the time mankind has been walking upright.

Every body has their own version of God and they like to kill each other over some crap that happened in biblical days.

actaully it was very peaceful from 1450's to the end of WWI when the British and French carved up the old Ottoman Empire and turned all these different groups against each other

before that time Christians, Jews and Moslums all lived together in relative peace

it' the land that Jesus lived in and preached

it should belong to every one as a world historical site

but certain people feel it is their land because for 1000's of years there people lived there
