This happens lots.
Drain all the fuel out you can with a syphon hose.
Add full tank of fresh gas.
Start and idle the engine for fifteen minutes.
It will smoke a little until all the diesel is out, but there won't be any engine damage, as long as the diesel left is less than 10 percent of the total fuel.
The only way diesel can damage your engine is if you let it knock (detonate) for a long time. (Five minutes is not long.)Any one that hears this noise usually lets off the gas, and the noise goes away.

How Much Diesel? Did the Engine Die? Any Noises? Replace Fuel Filter! Depending on the Amount you might need to Drain the tank and use Injector Cleaner with the next Two or Three Tanks.

DON'T RUN IT ANYMORE
Have it towed to garage and have the fuel system flushed out, and this includes the fuel tank.

Diesel fuel will cause expensive damage if you run the car too long.

if your lucky, you'll get away with a drain and a flush. with any luck, not much damage will of occurred. then maybe see if the cars ok boom boom.

First smack her across the head, then stop driving it, have it towed to a shop. Hopefully you can get away with the flush. Then Smack her again, and use your shoe this time!
