My husband and I give every christmas and we are always broke....

So that's why I'm so skint! I'll try and remember that next time I decide to be nice to someone. Whoever made up that wee gem obviously had more money than sense. No matter how much money I have I always buy something for my family and then find that if I'd only reisisted I'd be a couple of pounds better off but I just couldn't so............
Basically it is a load of bollocks but it's not going to stop me spending on the people I love :)

You aren't giving the right things maybe. Time, love, attention, respect, your listening skills, etc. Donate more of your time than what's actually in your wallet. You will make more friends that way.

Have to agree with you, my pockets are not empty yet but sadly have been depleted with all the Christmas shopping I have done. I know we shouldn’t give to receive but my brother is a right tight ars* and he never worries about money. (no wonder he doesn’t spend it).

As long as you have your health you should be happy what good is money if you couldn't spend it.Everybody spends too much at christmas well i do anyway.Money is the root of all evil lol

I give a cheque for £200 every year to charity and my pocket is never the worse off. (I don't sign the cheque )
