Sure. If you are having a bad day, why make everyone have a bad day, also? With my 3 week old baby that has colic and stays awake crying all night, my 2 yr old son that is the typical 2 yr old! , my boyfriend losing his job right before the baby was born, and everything else in life that is overexaggerated by my lack of sleep.... if I didn't smile and say it was OK, I couldn't convince myself that it WAS, now could I ? I think sometimes when you smile and say it is OK, you are really reassuring yourself that things are OK!
I try to smile when I answer the phone, as well, even if my day is chaotic. People can hear your smile.. sense your smile. I'm just tryin to go through life not bein the partypooper! lol

All the time, and all too much.
I tend to bottle up my feelings, which can either turn out bad or good, but, at least, the people around me, think I'm doing okay and won't worry. And, I am one of those people who laughs/smiles at funerals. I don't do it intentionally, and not noticeably, but sometimes that is my way of easing the pain I may be feeling at the time.

I did today. Things weren't ok, but I didn't want anybody to know. Life's spinning out of control right now, but I can't tell anybody. I'm in a position where I have to appear perfect, so for now, I smile. Maybe someday I'll be able to really talk with somebody. But for now, I'm going to confide in my internet friends.

Yes, but its not a "happy smile", but I will sometimes put up a little smile just so people won't ask "whats wrong"

Yes - especially in my English classes because I live in Germany and I shouldn't laugh but I can't help it! I'm learning English and being told what 'good morning' means! =D How ace! Then they all get a good laugh in the other lessons when I attempt German =P

Yeah.
I'll even smile when I'm in a lot of pain.
Like right now.
This way no one has to talk to me for 20 minutes on how to heal myself.
