The ultimate tip I can give you is "be nice to everyone". That way you earn more friends. But being nice doesn't mean you will trust everyone. Be friendly but cautious. Dubai is a friendly place, don' fret =)

It will be a lovely 35 degrees when you arrive and by summer it will be 45+ in the shade with 100% humidity.

It is traffic jam city for rich and poor alike and the problem starts at 5:00 am and doesnt quit untill 21 hours later. after a 3 hour rest it all starts over again.

Do you have money or are you working? I hope you have a good job if so. Dubai without money sucks.

If you drive to Sharjah 15 kms NE of Dubai, next to the Ansar Mall there is an apartment building. You can stay with my family on the 14th floor. They live in #1421 and the Name is Bin Laden (no joke)

* Always have passport photos, passport copies and birth certifcate copies ready for any time. Leave them in a folder in your desk ready for when you need them.

* Never handout originals, just show the originals ( they will get lost) and just leave copies ( schools, health, etc)

*When driving here, use the seat belts and be careful of speedsters. You will also need a 'salik' tag which is for toll bridges in on main Dubai road, this is a toll tag. You can buy one at the petrol station ( you need your passort for this), and you stick it on your windscreen at the front. When you pass the bridges, it is automatically detected and the toll fee will be deducted.

* Avoid doing shopping on the weekend as stores and traffic is very busy. Traffic is always busy . Mornings is best and early afternoons around 3 -4pm.

*If you have youngsters, always keep an eye on them until your know the environment very well.
