We have a nonprofit that has decided to give 100 holiday food baskets to those in need. Now, I have to figure out what to put in the baskets, do you give cooked food or food that they have to prepare? Canned goods, boxes of sides, drinks?

usually things that qualify as "durrable" goods. Things that dont need refridgeration. Canned or boxed foods. And things that need little additional foods to prepair them.

Ramen, pastas, soups, fruits and veggies, peanutbutter. That kind of stuff.

If you are making a more elaborate meal basket. A turkey or ham, potato's, onions, carrots, things of that nature are good too. Good solid foods that they can make today and have extras for a while, or last a long time like potatos, onions, and cheese.

We usually give canned goods, like green beans, peas, spinach, and corn, and also boxed foods, like mac and cheese and rice a roni...but we've also given pasta and pasta sauce in the past, and applesauce, and other things that don't need to be refrigerated. We've also given out kool-ade packets and hot chocolate and cider packets. I guess if you wanted to, you could give cans of soup or beans, or even instant foods like Chef boy-ar-dee ravioli or things like that. Good luck, it's nice that your thinking of those less fortunant during the holidays!

Give dry goods and non-perishable foods... Like macaroni/cheese, tuna fish and canned chicken... You can also include dried pasta, spagetti sauce and some canned fruit and dry drink mixes.... Maybe some dried fruit or preserves.... Cereals/oatmeal things of that nature...Good luck

Yes, do not give anything that is already cooked. Give them canned and boxed foods, like vegetables and stuffing mix.
