I make a decent salary and have two kids that will be in elementary school. If I quit, money wouldn't be a problem. Is this wise??

I've done that before.

I've taken time off to raise our daughter.

I've taken time off because I got tired of my job.

I've taken time off to volunteer my time to helping the homeless, especially homeless children.

If you have the choice....do what makes you and your family happy.

As long as we could still accomplish our financial goals, I don't see why not. But if quitting work meant we'd have to scale down on our dreams, I wouldn't do it. I like having the material comforts, and I don't mind working to achieve things. Right now, I could quit working, and we'd still be able to pay all of our bills, own a house, put money away and have a comfortable lifestyle. But with me working, we can do so much more - like help my family financially, travel, go on cruises etc. To me, it's worth working for.

P.S. I agree with the previous poster that if I ever didn't have to work and had the financial means, I would go back to school to study something I've always wanted to study, just for the heck of it.

Maybe you should cut down on your hours instead of quitting to see how you feel about that extra time and if the lack of the money does or doesnt effect you. This gives you time to react and the ability to actually see if this is something you can deal with before completly calling it quits

If it have been mine...it may all go right now in the direction of my pupil loan. that would basically take 5 minutes by employing employing information superhighway. i do no longer think of there is something i could want to purchase...possibly a clean kitchen. we could probable put in new countertops, home equipment, floor, and cabinets for decrease than $10,000 because of the fact its so small.

I dont see why not. If things go south you can always work again. I'd take the opportunity to do more with that free time since money isnt a issue.

My friend did and she loves it! She was even recognized by the President at the State of the Union address. There is no greater feeling than giving! Very cool for you, go for it!

I would so love to have that option. I would do it in a heartbeat. I am a homeschooling mom that also works part time. I am always tired.

If I had the option of quitting my job and doing something else, I would go back to school and get a differnt degree.

with your children going to elementary school, maybe you could still work.... but part-time, so you would have time to spend with them after school. i think it's a great idea
