Good question. That is the way we should proceed if socialized medicine is the goal. I am not for it but if enough want it they should amend the Constitution.

That will never succeed!
So why bother asking. There will never come a time when 75% of the House and Senate agree to ammending the constitution for health care.

I don't see how it can be considered a "right".
IMO, a right is something that you have that does not infringe upon anybody else.
A right, to me, cannot include taking money from others' pockets or forcing others' to provide medical service.
You can, if you wish, Amend the Constitution to guarantee that all Americans have this boon, this charity, this largesse, because it otherwise is not constitutional.
But don't give me this tripe about it ever being a "right".

No. Having health care is a privilege. How many of the people do you see that complain they don't have health care, have fancy cell phones, computers with internet, fancy cars?
The biggest problem we have is people not prioritizing their expenses.
Medicaid covers more than enough people right now

As a 24/7 liberal I say no.
I see protecting the Constitution as a greater need than Health Care.
The lack of Universal Health Care is a heart condition not a legal problem. Callus hearted Americans have lost all concepts of compassion.
But this is common in a time of War

No. Health care is not something that needs to be covered by the constitution.

It's not necessary. The only Constitutional test necessary is if it directly VIOLATES the Constitution. I'm always bewildered by those who think every program or law we have has to be provided for specifically in the Constitution, it doesn't.

No.
Amending the constitution is a really big deal. It should not be done on an issue that so many Americans are divided over.
