As long as the human race exists there will be crime. There will always be someone who wants something for free and is willing to take it from someone who worked hard for it.
There will also never be total peace. Some semblance of peace would be nice. I cannot imagine a world where there was never an argument or a difference of opinion. Everyone would walk around like robots. No voices raised. All the same. Total peace. Boring and why bother?

Crime exists because some people are greedy and think everything should be handed to them on a silver platter. If they can't get what they want the legitimate way, they'll take it. I know, not all crime is theft, but think about it. Rapists are taking something (stealing sex). Murderers are taking something (someone's life).

boy do I wish there was an easy answer for this. I have to wonder what happened between the 50's and now. We've become greedy too, and it seems society dictates that we need it all and we need it now. That could account for some robberies, or jealous rages. I'm scared for my kids--what will the world be like in another 20 years??

It's due in part to the fact that we as humans are sinners and also because Satan hates us and is on a mission to destroy us one way or another. That's why we need a savior.

Because they don't execute the guilty within a week of sentence. If they started doing that their would be no need to enlarge prisons and build new ones and the accused know if they wait longer in their cells that theire is a chance to get out to kill, molest and steal some more.

its all a part of protecting ourselves. people act criminally to (what they see as) help themselves or make themselves happy. all crimes ultimately end up hurting the criminal and others but criminals don't see this, they only see one way out of situations and those are the people that act on urges and go to jail, or worse. from rapists to murderers to robbers to tax evasion to etc...

because when God created us he gave us the power to make our own choices - good or evil- each one of us has a choice, but what some dont know or care about is "what you reap also you shall sow"
it is depressing. i work in law enforcement..... somethings we will never understand until we get to heaven, thats how i have to deal with alot of it, especially crime involving children.
