You're overwhelmed. What you need to do is break the problem into smaller chunks.
Start by obtaining facts on your subject. You can use the internet for this, if you want, by searching google or yahoo. Put down the URLs you find into a collection and take some notes as to why you picked the site (what it was about).
Now try to organize your facts by grouping them together. Put similar facts together.
Now type out a rough draft of your paper. Don't worry about spelling or anything at this point. Just get the ideas down in order you decided earlier.
Finally, it's time to go through your rough draft and clean it all up. Check for spellling mistakes, etc.
To keep you motivated and energized you could have some caffine, but don't overdo it. Put on some background music to keep the pace going (something easy to listen to).

The camera got stuck in PLAY mode. Switch off camera, remove batteries. Wait a few seconds. Reinsert batteries. Restart camera. Enter CAMERA mode. Zoom lens in and out. Enter PLAY mode, then back to CAMERA mode. If that doesn't work, don't open camera - send for repairs.

Find a health food store near you and get some DMAE. this is a natural substance - basically, the part of the fish that makes you smarter -- with no side effects that costs about $6 or so. You will find this helps your concentration and memory. I first heard about it some 20 years ago and have used it off and on since then and every student I have told about it told me that it has helped them. It doesn't make you feel any different and the only difference you will see is better concentration, and perhaps more vivid dreams if you take it at night. Good luck with the paper!!

Make sure that you are not distracted by the TV or any electronics. Then start the research paper and take 5 minute breaks when you get tired. It helps me to concentrate when I am alone with no distractions.

Option A:Start by getting the heck OFF LINE. There is no magic pill, only self discipline. Remind yourself of what is at stake if you DON'T get the paper done.
Option B: Waste the rest of today, wake up at dawn tomorrow in a state of panic and crank the thing out.
