he has the same luck as anyone else, only-he'll never know what he found. thus never recognizing an opportunity.

Finding the answer for this all depends on determining where the "luck" lies, in the clover, or in the man. Is the clover considered lucky only because the man believes in the luck and therefore finds that lucky things happen? Or is the clover itself the source of luck, thus affecting anyone who finds it, regardless of whether the finder is aware or not? Since "luck" is a phenomenon that has yet to be proven and there are various studies that show the power of belief in affecting humans lives, I would be confident saying that the man is not lucky, because he has no reason to BELIEVE that he is...

This is like the "tree falling" question. If four leaf clovers really are lucky then the man is lucky whether he can count or not. Just because you are not around to see the tree fall does not mean that it didn't fall without a sound. We all know that jet engines make a loud noise but unless we're at an airfield we can't hear them.

First let it be decided that the man who CAN count gets lucky when he finds a four-leaf clover. That coming across a four-leaf clover is a matter of luck (coincidence) is already decided, whether the man can count or not.

It means you need to get back to work.
Lets assume luck is real and four leaf clovers provide luck. The clover does not get its luck because the sides where counted. It brings luck because it is in the persons possession; even if they don't realize it. the ability to count only provides the person with it in their possession the knowledge to recognize where the luck is coming from.
This is the tree falls in the woods does it make a sound type of deal. but the argument is not if the tree fell. The tree did fall and the magical clover has magic.
If he eats it he will have luck shooting from his azz LOL

Anyone who finds a 4-leaf clover is lucky because they aren't all that common - I have only about a dozen from a whole lifetime of looking. They have been pressed and encased in Sellotape.

To the world's eyes, he is lucky, but he will never have the opportunity to realize he was lucky..
It is like a poor unlearned person winning the lottery, and not being able to properly invest/utilize the money he got due to lack of knowledge with the business world, or the material world itself..
It is also like a man being loved dearly by the pickiest girl in the world but wouldn't have the opportunity to love back because he doesn't feel anything for the person...

Well first off he wouldn't know , unless someone told him, He found a clover, and he believe in its representation.
If he does happen to believe, maybe he would think of himself lucky.
Its a matter of do you believe a 4 leaf clover brings luck or not. I personally don't , so it would just be another clover.

I thought this question was ridiculous at first, but after considering a few different points, interesting. Thanks for some brain cheetos this am.
1. He could be lucky and not be aware of it.
2. He could be told it was lucky and then the ability to trust in the luck creates the luck itself
3. He could be lucky by chance itself and the inability to count does not infer the answer.
4. He could be lucky simply by finding it. If he passes it along to someone else they could be lucky too.

Didn't hear about this one before...
Well it obviously mean that being lucky it's just a matter of our own. I mean , just figure out that you,ve found a fourleaf clover, you'd instantanealy think that you'll be lucky and the way you face life will change.
It means that you are the owner of your destiny, you are the one who decides it all.

Your quote is easily 50% better than the notion that there are three kinds of people, those who can count, and those who can't.
"Climb the Highest Mountain," Mark Prophet,
"Watch Your Dreams" and "Men in White Apparel," Ann Ree Colton,
"Light Is a Living Spirit" and "Man, Master of His Destiny," O. M. Aivanhov, and
"Expecting Adam," Martha Beck, is a worthy set of four.
kind regards,
j.
