To take them and their violence out of the gene pool?? say the Otter who really can't say anything else. Having been raped as a small child and then again as a young woman, I really could now have no problem hanging rapists and child molesters. I *probably* could have no problems looking them dead in the eyes and executing them -- and this from a woman known for pacivity.
Predators don't stop, they can't be rehabilitated, they do not change their ways. That's why they're predators. In a sense we're all predators; but as rational humans we keep it in check; we allow our ethics to guide us rather than the urge to hunt and kill or to take power over others.
The predators among us aren't hunting for meat. They're hunting for pain and power. They need to be stopped and taken out. I;m sorry if my words offend others but they're the only words I have that ease *my* pain.

Why did you put this question in this section?
I guess it's like the whole eye for an eye thing. Generally, people are most afraid of death, because of the unknown. Plus, if you're a Christian, then you believe that those people who are put to death go to Hell.
Also, if they're kept in prison for the rest of their lives, we're using up tax dollars that could be put the use somewhere more constructive than keeping a killing freak alive with three square meals a day, a bed and toliet.

We do not kill them to show that it is wrong. We kill them to make sure they never get put back out on the streets, where they could kill again, and to give people fear of the death penalty.
I personally think that we should be using the death penalty a lot more... I'm tired of my tax money going to pay for meals and board for murders, rapists, pedophiles, and thieves.

It's an issue I've been questioning for a few years.
Here in the UK, they abolished the Death Penalty {Capital Punishment} back in the 1960's. And it has since been shown that quite a few people who were hung were actually innocent, or their crimes were not really that serious.
However, I believe that in cases of murder, and other serious or repeat crimes, if there is absolutely *no doubt* of a person's guilt, than maybe they should be sentenced to death.

Well...I dont see it either...I mean prison for a looong time yeah. But I alo see a point too. I mean its kinda like an eye for an eye thing, you know?
*Its like people (mass murderers) kill people and think that we are infereior to them and that they hold all the power. But when you put them on death row, they no longer feel like their in power. You know, making them feel like the victim, which is the exact opposite of what they were trying to do!

We don't kil them to set an example... anyone with no respect for human life has no place in a civilized society. We kill them to remove them from society, so that their lack of respect for human life does threaten the rest of society. And if you believe that they should just be locked up for the rest of their lives, you should be the one responsible for the costs of that. The whole of society should not be responsible for the cost of incarcerating and caring for those who have no regard for human life.
