I have a 316i 1995 bmw why does it on occations seem to just suddenly shift & give me more take off speed than it usually does, etc, more power @startoff . I feel that when overtaking it should have more power, because of its injection ,or is this not so ! Could there be a fault with my injection system in the car

Is the car an auto or manual? Either way, other than the usual fuel filter/air filter issues that would be part of routine servicing, check for air leaks/vacuum leaks around the manifold area. This can be done with either a very fine water spray bottle or a can of WD40, If the engine loses revs (with water) then that is the area it is leaking (with WD40 it will increase in revs). Alternatively check that the cam position sensor is working. If you are not mechanically minded, find a mechanic with the correct diagnostic tools who will be able to identify the issue more cost-effectively.
