Eastern Star was started for wives and daughters (over 18) of Masons. Masons also can belong to the Eastern Star.
I have never heard the term Reverned in Masonary so I am not sure where that falls. But it is probably an upper positon in the lodge.
There is Rainbows for daughters between the age of 10 and 18 (they now can also invite there friends even if they have no Mason family). There is a group for the sons as well, but I can't remember what it is called.

Masons are not about genetics.
The Masons are what is known as a fratneral society. They have also been called "Free Masons." The group started in Europe. Although there's a great deal of debate about the origins of the Masons, I can state this much. The Masons in the early years in Europe were generally not of gentry (royal lineage), but were comprised of businessmen, laborers, craftsmen.
There are two distinct branches of Masonry: York Rite and Scottish Rite. The most common Rite in the US is the Scottish Rite, which has 33 degrees in which a member Mason advances through over his lifetime. It is a distinguinshment to achieve all the degrees. The York Rite has 12 degrees.
Masons welcome people of many faiths, and membership is by invitation only. Masons usually do a good deal of civic volunteer work and raise money for charities.
I've never heard the term Reverend associated with Masons on its own. I think you don't have the entire title.
Eastern Star is the adult woman auxillary of the Masons, and men also participate in its rituals and functions. There are other organizations that are also masonic related for women such as Daughters of the Nile and Order of Amaranth.
For youth, the Masons also have Rainbow For Girls which is open to all girls (ages 11-20), while Job's Daughters (ages 10-20) and DeMolay for Boys (ages 12-21) require sponsorship of a Mason in order to be a member.
I was a Rainbow Girl and a Job's Daughter. My brother was a DeMolay. My mother was also a Rainbow Girl. I enjoyed my time with both organizations and learned a great deal about the importance of giving back to my community through my time, efforts and cash donations.
Hope this helps.

" Reverend " is not a title used in the Masonic Fraternity. there is a " Chaplain " which is an appointive office in the Masonic Lodge Officers Line. This Officer is responsible for providing the required Religious support to members along with offering Prayers during meetings, Ritual Ceremonies, Funeral Rites, Etc.

Eastern Star is the female auxilary to the Masons. It's not a position, its the name of the group. The History channel (I think, or TLC) has run specials on the Masons if you're interested in that.

I think Shanna has provided you with the best answer.
Mansonry is NOT hereditary, although it is not uncommon for sons to follow fathers into the Masons. It's a fraternal organization not unlike the Rotary or Kiwanis, although its roots run MUCH deeper.
Nowadays, it's primary purposes are social and community based activities often involving the less privileged and children.
