USE YOUR BRAIN, even if you really don't know, get used to coming to YOUR conclusions. It will be vital in the future.

I sound like a broken record.

Some important factors are subsistence: what does the environment allow in terms of food, whether it is crops or livestock? If there is poor subsistence, then only a small population can be supported.

What is the weather like? Extreme climates (really cold and really hot, extremely rainy or snowy) generally can't support great populations because the conditions are too adverse for stable populations.

Geography: What is the terrain like? What natural features such as rivers, lakes, etc can be utilized?

I think your more ab to get more people in a warmer climate then a cold one, but, pop. also depends on what a city has to offer. Thiers more people in florida then maine, but, thiers more people in large cities like New York or Boston then Atlanta. So it also depends on city's hype for how many people live in an area.
