Pretzels.
How do you think they control the amount of salt that adheres to the pretzel ? It does appear to be a random application.

Can of Fruit Cocktail was good until I got down to just the syrup and made the mistake of drinking it. Now I have a tin taste in my mouth...hence the pretzels.

The pretzel is moist while it's uncooked, and the salt sticks to it after they touch it against the salt.
