Fruit Cocktail.
I was looking at it before I started eating and wondered how they decide on the mix ratio. Being a man of science, I counted the fruit components.
4 cherries (1/2's)
7 grapes (green & whole)
12 pieces of pineapple
22 pieces of pear
37 pieces of peach

I wonder if there is some super-secret algorithm to this mix in order to meet a government standard of nutritional cornicopia OR do you think it's whatever falls off the belt and hits the can after some machine, an illegal immigrant, an ex-convict or a high school drop-out has chopped it all up ?

I bet it is someone's job to watch the price of each fruit and adjust the ratio accordingly. If cherries suddenly became really cheap, I think you'd see more of them in the can. I'm guessing peaches are cheaper than the rest right now.
