Okay, when you ADD it undoes subtraction and so forth. So let's put the x terms on one side and the regular numbers on the other.
(13x-5x)=(-20-7) (see how this was done?)
8x=-27
Divide both sides by 8
x=-27/8
16x-5=18x-2
(-5+2)=18x-16x
-3=2x
x=-3/2
And then you can plug the values back into the original equation to check your work!

OKAYY.
I love these.
13x + 7=5x - 20
FIRST..
you need to get all the x's to the right.
sooo.. its a positive number so you will have to subtract it. to the other side. You'll do this to both sides.
13x + 7=5x - 20
-5x = -5x
So then you will have..
8x + 7=-20
So now you need to get rid of the 7 or put to the other side.
Its a positive number so you will subtract it on both sides.
8x + 7=-20
-7 =-7
Its a negative number that your adding too.
8x=-27
After you pretty much simplfy it you will divide 8 in to negative 27.
Sooo.
you should find your answer.
The other one..
16x-5=18x -2
again you'll need to get all the X's to right side.
So you will be subtracting 18x to the left side.
16x-5=18x -2
-18x =-18x
So 16-18 is -2
-2x - 5 = -2
Now you need to the negative 5 to the other side.
Since its negative you will be adding it to the other side.
-2x - 5 = -2
+5 = +5 5 plus and negative 2 will equal 3.
-2x=3
than you will divide -2 into 3.
I hope this helped and i didnt give you the answers just the steps.

13x + 7 = 5x - 20
- 7 - 7
13x = 5x - 27
-5x -5x
8x = -27
/8 /8
x = -27/8 (-3 3/8)
Hope that made sense. Try the next one yourself.

for the first one:
bring 5x to the left side, and 7 to the right side, in that case they each get a negative sign, so
13x-5x = -20 -7
8x = -27
x = -27 / 8
Second one is exactly similar,
16x - 18x = -2 + 5
-2x = 3
x = -3 / 2

13x + 7 = 5x - 20
Step one is to get X on one side. So hear subtract 5x from 13x
13x + 7 = 5x - 20
-5x...........-5x
and ull have:
8x + 7 = -20
now u need to further simplify by isolating x and combining the numbers, so to get 8x by itself u need to subtract 7 since 7 is a positive integer and its the only way to get rid of it.
8x + 7 = -20
.......- 7.......-7
and u get:
8x = -27
now u need to further simplify by dividing 8 from both sides of the equation. This way ull have X alone revealing what x must be in order for the equation to work.
8x/8 = -27/8
x= -27/8

solve x by putting all x on left side and the numbers on the right side
then you can solve
ex: 5x-3x= 2
5x = 2
x= 1
hope this helps

It's after W and right before Y...you can't miss it.
Why are you fining X anyway? Was it speeding? Did it turn in a late library book?
