1. Notre Dame- because they are Notre Dame, the most storied program in college history. Unfortunately for this USC fan, they will be back.
2. USC- hard to argue with Pete's record the last few years, and the Heisman winners.
3. Penn State- when Joe Pa retires, there will be a long line.
4. Nebraska- what else is there in that state?
5. Michigan/OSU- i think these 2 are tied. Also, I think the coach should be tied to the school. Only then could they truly understand the rivalry.
7.Texas- back to the days of the old SWC.
8. Alabama- remember the hat on the sidelines? Paul "Bear" Bryant. Nuff said
9. 3-way tie: Miami, FSU, Florida- take your pick, national championships, Heismans, weather, girls, and the biggest reason, the rivalries between them.

Okay. Here we go in Letterman style:

10- West Virginia: they've always been able to recruit speed

9- Florida: even when they lose, their decent

8- LSU: crazy fans to boot

7- Michigan: who wouldn't want to be in the Big House on Saturday afternoon?

6- Oklahoma: farm-raised toughness is hard to turn down

5- Alabama: two words-> roll tide!

4- Texas: the game is SO big in that state that there's a TV show about it

3- USC: a Rose Bowl wouldn't be a Rose Bowl w/o them!

2- The Ohio State: with a $100 million athletic budget, sky's the limit!

1- Notre Dame: even if you stink, you'll still do much better than Weiss. lol. seriously...they make movies about its tradition, its players and its spirit.
:-)

What about AUBURN?
Tuberville will make 3.1million each year over the next 4 years and he has a hefty 6 million buyout for job security. I don't see all of the teams you mentioned with hefty salaries like that.
It's also easy to recruit there and the facilities are awesome.
Bama is a has been dream job. Just ask every coach since Bear Bryant.

In no particular order:

Texas (football crazy, talent rich state, great tradition)

Notre Dame (despite recent struggles, still a prominent job)

Alabama (Following in Bear's footsteps is tough, but still a good job)

USC (the weather, the tradition, the women, the fertile recruiting ground. What else could you want?)

LSU (the fans are sometimes TOO demanding, but a talent rich state and outstanding facilities)

Oklahoma (....it's Oklahoma. One of the winningest programs ever. Enough said)

Virginia Tech (Whoever eventually replaces Beamer would have a tough time, but I still think it could be a great job for someone.)

Florida (See USC above)

Michigan (See Oklahoma above)

Ohio State (See Oklahoma above)

florida definitely. you got this year, next year and possibly the year afters heisman quarterbacking there, and hes surrounded by the most dangerous offense in college football right now. plus they have a blossoming defense that has gotten better the whole year and will continue to excel in the coming years. plus floridas probably gonna be ranked 1 or 2 in the polls in the beginning of next year. not to mention its in florida. the weathers great. the tradition. and you get to play in the SEC and prove you can compete and win against the best.
