It was based on a book by V.C. Andrews, and was actually the first book in a series of 5 novels called Dollanganger Series. It was followed by Petals on the Wind, If There Be Thorns, Seeds of Yesterday, and Garden of Shadows. It was about 4 siblings who were locked in an attic, and led a very dysfunctional life. Two were really little, and twins, a boy and a girl. The older two were young teens, a boy and a girl.

If I were looking for a DVD, I think I would google on the phrase: Flowers In The Attic DVD. It will probably take you to sites you can hit to find it.

i have all four books in the series and the film was quite rubbish after reading the book. The elder 2 children Chris and Cathy had incest as they were teenagers and didn't know any different. They spent 4 years in the attic. The smaller two were twins Corey and Carrie and Corey died in the atticc aged about 3 years old..The books are brilliant...

Yes, it was a story reputedly based on fact, about an American heiress who tried to hide the fact that she had two daughters and a son from her father so that she could inherit his fortune. She pretended she had no children and she locked them in an attic for years until they eventually escaped. A fantastic read, much better than the film.

Hi Franni I haven't seen the film but have read the book - Flowers in the Attic by Virginia Andrews. Google HMV and buy it online. Petals in the Wind is the sequel. cheers pendelli.

go to books a million. it was about a girl her brother and two more kids. the grand mother locked them in attic. there is series of books to go with the first one that will tell you what happened to the kids as they became adults.

I haven't read the novels but I loved to hate Louise Fletcher as the Grandmother. Kristy Swanson was pretty good too.

The book's so much better than the film. Read the book first. The film doesn't do it justice. It is a shockingly awful film.
