What the world needs now is ?

It needs more peace. If there were peace not everything would be so bad: countries wouldn't spend so much money in wars and they would try to help the poor and the sick. Less people would die and people would be more happy.

Superman? How the hell would I know. If I knew what the world needed, it would have it (if possible).

I'll go with the standard responses to make my masters happy:

Health care. The abolishment of poverty. Politicians that don't lie. A answer to global warming in which we can keep our convenience... These are all impossible and undesirable, but it'll please the PC.

Basic healthcare for all
Education for the young
