I got Thule, Yakima, and Sportrack (which was bought by Thule). What are some others? I need to find one for a 2000 Ford Escort ZX2.

There is also Inno Racks. I personally like their designs. They have been in Japan for > 20 years, and they came to the US market about 7 years ago.

Here is a base rack compatible with your vehicle:

Whether your car has a factory rack or not, I like the Thule snowboard rack. It is more than just a wide ski rack, the slots are angled so the bindings won't hit the roof and it will hold 4 boards - 2 boards back to back in each slot. It can be locked, looks nice, and the angled slots make it easy to get the boards out even on a tall vehicle.

Good Luck

I've been using Thule rack components for 20 years and have never been disappointed. They may be a bit more expensive, but they are durable and many parts are reusable: I've got some 20 year old parts that have been on four cars... so far.
