Russia has reversed most of the liberties in it's free press that have been made over the last 15 years. In many ways, including attitude it is returning to its old Soviet State ways.

Iran wants to rebuild the Persian Empire, an Empire that fell to the Ancient Greeks and is long out of date. This explains there search for the nuclear bomb though their citizens are demanding it. So what happens when they get the nuclear bomb and the nations that used to be part of Persian Empire don't want to fall under Iranian rule?

You also forgot to remember China's oppression of Nepal and how their border guards have shoot to kill orders to use on any citizen trying to flee China's control.

But, then you are looking at the negative thinks that each nation is doing. China is trying to do make the advancements that took the US over 100 years in only 1/2 that time. Japan has become a technological giant, but 40 years ago the sign "Made in Japan" used to mean poor quality; which is where China seems to be now. The US is the most powerful nation in the world, but our recent war mongering is not the result of what the majority of the people want, our invasion of Iraq can actually be traced to Dick Cheney’s attempt to politically out maneuver the former head of the CIA because he was too popular with President Bush Jr. He used the flimsiest of excuses to invade Iraq and had Scooter Libby write Collin Powel's speech to the UN. I thought the evidence was pretty weak, but I trusted Collin Powel to not lead us into a foolish exercise. I am sure Collin Powel feels just as betrayed by the Bush Administration and Dick Cheney as you and I do.

As for Mexico, I don't know what their problem is or why they aren't doing anything about it. Their citizens have been illegally crossing into the US for over 40 years. They make a horrible partner in the US's "War on Drugs" and just seem to be frittering their nation away. The most likely reason for this is government corruption.

The problem is that that I am talking about individuals, not nations. It is the governing rulers of China that that have made those decisions that are so horrible, it is the corrupt officials in Mexico that are responsible for its sorry state, and it is the political maneuvering of Dick Cheney that caused the war in Iraq. Individuals set the path of the nation and we need to elect the right individuals to set ourselves back on the correct road.

President Putin seems popular so I don’t see any change in Russia, the Iranian people want to reunify the old Persian Empire so I don’t’ see a change there either. I just hope the next administration can return America to its proper place in the world and restore the morals of our government. We have to stay in Iraq to keep it stable, but clearly our active withdrawal will make fewer people angry with us and it will help the cause against terrorism. The National Intelligent Estimate said that the war in Iraq is actually making the terrorist problem even worse.

I don't know about other whole countries, but about 50% of the people in some middle eastern nations seem to think nothing of blowing up a bus full of people. Oh, and you can't forget the whole women as slaves who can't show their entire face in public thing.
