Or were they just a bunch of adventurous people who were interested in seeing that part of the world, who could afford it(!) and it didn't matter what their politcal affiliation was?

They may have been going to watch penguins or killer whales. Who knows? Does it really matter? A lot of people died doing what they enjoyed most and you ask this innane question. Do you place such little value on human life as to worry what their political affiliation is?

Not to mention, my grandmother used to talk about all of those crazy kids who died because they were driving over 50 mph and yet the speed limit on most interstates is now 70 mph. Times change. People used to think only the extremely rich or talented went to college, women were inferior to men and the such. Maybe they were environmentalists but maybe they're just forward thinking.

Ahhh, listening to Rush, I see. They could be environmental wackos; many of them, despite the stereotype of Republicans, are quite wealthy. Many of us who have to work to keep food on the table don't have time to worry about melting polar icecaps. However, I understand that there are cruise ships that do go down there for the rich who've been everywhere else. I'm sure there were a mixture of both parties.

I would go with the second choice here.
My best friend and his wife went on an Alaska cruise to see something they had never seen before not because of politics.

There was no mention of green peace or any one else here just tourists.

The very word "cruise" means to travel for enjoyment. I'm sure their political affiliation had nothing to do with it.

I'm not sure what your point is. They were people on a ship. I'm sure they were many types.

We all weary of your hatreds, dear.

Seriously. Why are people that care whackos, and people that walk around with cell phones glued to their ears normal?
