Games are becoming very realistic, so why should they take the realism out of it. I do think however, that games like grand thefet auto and manhunt and all other games that are just straight out gorefests are insanely UNREALISTIC and a bane to the gaming industry. Im not talking about games like fear and doom, which actually have a point to them, and fear has one hell of a story... If a game has language, I think that devs could record another track and include the option for the alternate track with no language- but in the end it boils down to the gamer- they should know what games they can play and what not to get......

No because when we start censoring things then where on a very slippery slope. this is a free country and when we start censoring things then we lose a little bit of that freedom
the esrb should be enough. To many people want to blame video games for this and that when it all falls to the parents
if parents would get informed they know what content is in the games . when u censor something your changing what the maker had invisioned. As a parent i believe the buck doesnt stop at video gamers if u dont want your kid playing a violent game or something of the like then one know what u buying two get involved play some of these games with your kid. why censor games just cause someone buys something that censored doesnt stop anything

NO, video games shoud not be censored because they all have the ESRB rating on them that tells the content in a game. I mean, if video games were to be censored, then movies would have to be censored to, and that's not going to happen.
Different games are meant for people of different age groups, so if you don't want to see certain content, dont buy the game.

I would like to see something that would work similar to the VCHIP that is installed in the television sets.
Maybe something that could make the VCHIP read the rating of the game being played and block accordingly.
This would take advantage of existing hardware in the television set. It should not take a lot of programing or major changes to hardware.
Unfortunately, my solution would need to be applied to new game consoles and games. It would do nothing for the millions of game consoles and games already purchased.
This would place this responsibility on the parents, and not the government.

Other forms of entertainment aren't censored, so I don't see why video games should be. Parents and other buyers of games should make themselves more aware of the ratings system so they don't buy violent/explicit games.
People are well aware that an R rated movie is meant for mature audiences. People need to become aware that M rated games are meant for mature audiences.

You asked a subjective question but want an objective answer. Of course if you check out some info Joe Liberman and some lawyer named Jack something from Florida. They are the two biggest anti-video game advocates. Of course keep in my mind any information connected with them will be duely biased.

In my opinion, no. Because they all have ratings and parents can read this and choose whether or not there child can have the game or not. It is like movies and other things.

There is only one way anything should be censored. If it offends you, don't buy it.
