Yes I figured this out. After you answer a question and the asker let's it go to the community pot, you can go there and vote for your answer. Your avatar will not be there, but then list the answers numerically. Just look back through your questions you answered and when you see the "in voting" by the question, you can vote for your answer or anothers. So you may pick up 10 points more each time and normally they are decided by one or two votes.

Also if you froget and don't pick a best answer for your question and miss out on the three points, you can still go and vote for the best answer on your asked questions and get a point. had to figure this out, but some know. Take care. Also if the question you answered was "extended", then you will really need to go back a week on all the questions you answered and if you see the "in voitng" open it and vote for yourself or someone elses answer. Take Care.

I only vote for my own answer when recognized to support my own answer, if I believe mine is the most intellegent and answers the question thoroughly. This has not always been the case, as I have found answers that were better than mine. Also, if I slip down 1% because I answered so many questions, and I feel I need to get back up by getting more BA's, then I will vote for my own answer as well.

I've noticed that I can vote in questions I asked, too, but I prefer to let the public do that for me, unless I see the question has gone into a tiebreaker. One of my latest questions, I put to voting; I should go back and see how much time is left.

Yeah, I learned this a few days ago. At first, I felt uncomfortable about voting for my own answers, but then, a lot of people vote for their own answers. Many times I've seen a really poor answer win because nobody else voted. So even if I feel that my answer isn't the best it could be, I'll vote for it, because it might prevent a poor answer from becoming the best - although I will vote for a answer other than mine, if I feel that it answers the question clearly and well.

Yup.

I've gone back a few times out of curiosity. Sometimes I forget what I wrote. Most of the time there are several votes for other answers and none for mine.

I think thats why some people put little ♥'s or good luck at the end of all their answers so they can go into voting and find themselves easier w/o all the leg work

SHHHHH!!!! Yahoo will fix that oversight if they hear you.

It sure explains how some people get "Top Contributor" badges though.
