Chemically, it is caused by high levels of testosterone. I've been thinking of spiking my husbands food with testosterone.....
But yes, it is perfectly normal to experience highs and lows in sex drive.

as a nurse I can tell you anti depressants lower sex drive alot but you do not want to take something you do not need. I would say he is not the guy for you and get out now. because his sex drive will not change ashe gets older will only lower as his body starts making less testotrone. people will comment to you to get him viagra that does not raise sex drive just makes penis harder improvign blood flow there. As a married mother of 4 kids I will tell you a love is often about doing it sometimes even when you personally are not in the mood or are tired because your partner needs or wants it. just as he should do the same. if your sex drive is not compatible now it most likely will never be. does not soundslike your forever guy. keep looking

Your sex drive is nothing short of a flood of hormones telling your body you need sex. Of course things like lots of sex or masturbation can increase your hormones thus your sex drive

Absolutely, and if you have the opportunity for it to be expressed - enjoy!! While we may not be able to pinpoint what causes our sex drive to increase, we do know that stress, fatigue and depression tend to decrease ones' sex drive.

The sex drive is caused by testosterone in both men and women. Since women tend to have lower levels of testosterone (if she didn't, she'd be a very manly woman), that's why they have lower sex drives.
Yes, this is perfectly normal for people to experience this. Hormones are wrapped in a mystery, surrounded by enigma. We have yet to uncover all the ways that they affect our bodies.
