What was your interpretation of the final scene? My wife and I have different opinions so we were wondering what other people thought about it.

The very final scene that shows hazy figures through a foggy window of an old building in the woods with Morgan Freeman's narrative is what I'm asking about. Thanks.

At the end of the movie isn't he sitting at that little diner she took him too and he's eating a piece of pie? It's been awhile since I've watched it.

It was a sad ending and a sad final scene, but i didnt agree with the ending. There are many people out there that are disabled like that, they dont take their lives or ask someone to do that. But rather go out and motivate others. Think of christopher reeve. Seems like the movie reinforced the thinking that if you're disabled, you should take your life and give up.

Neither one wanted her to live the quality of life that she would've led after the injury. She'd reached such a high point in her life and come so far. Her family was never a good support system, her career was her life and that was gone. She got to die with dignity.

i wish they wouldnt of made it so sad! but for the mostpart i thought the whole movie was great and the last scene added a good touch!

if i remember correctly, that's where eastwood helps hillary swank die. correct? i don't understand how that could be anything other than what it was.
