Every one tries to control the media when it comes to public perception. The Clintons just take it to a much higher level. It is a matter of degree, I suppose.

To me, if you have nothing to hide or much good things to sell you do not need nearly as strong a grip on the media. However, if you fear people finding out something or if you are trying to fool people, you cannot afford anything less than maximum control.
