Well I absolutely loved the 70s. I had the greatest friends in highschool, worked together after school, we'd hang out at the "donut hole" after work, where all the guys would come and hang out with their hotrods...it was so much fun. We'd go watch the guys play soccer, football, hockey, wrestle, etc. We'd go dancing on Ladies Night every Thursday night in our late teens, go to concerts, or just hang at the tennis courts, it didn't matter if we never got to play, we'd spend hours just talking with friends. The simple things were fun. People don't do that kind of stuff anymore.
Hmm...to list some alphabetically
Bad Company, The Band, David Bowie, Alice Cooper, Doobie Bros. Eagles, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Fleetwood Mack, Peter Frampton, Grand Funk, Guess Who, Heart, Billy Joel, Elton John, Journey, Kiss, Led Zepplin, John Lennon, Lynyrd Skynayrd, Tom Petty/Heartbreakers, Queen, Ramones, REO Speedwagon, Stones, Roxy Music, Santana, Bob Seger, Springsteen, Rod Stewart, Styx, Supertramp, Triumph, U2, Van Halen, Yes, Neil Young, Warren Zevon, ZZ Top
I really hated "stoner music" I don't name bands. They weren't left out unintentionally! ;~)
I loved the pop bands too, including disco and punk (B52's!)anything you could dance too...most of those were bands from the 80s, or at least that's when I got into that.
And any good old SAP tunes. I'm a sucker for romance. Believe it or not, I adored guys like Englebert Humperdink, Neil Diamond, etc. etc. etc....I just got a whole new whack of those tunes and it's awesome listening to them again!
Here's a couple of tunes...c'mon, WHO doesn't love ROMANCE???

I agree with Eve, I listened to a lot of the oldies, loved Mac Davis, Tom Jones, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra. In fact I would go to the waterfront and listen to the jazz bands and big bands playing in the summer. They would have outdoor dancing too. Those WERE the days!
We would get high and go to concerts like Prince, David Bowie, Neil Young, Blondie, and stuff like that back in the 70s. Used to love guys like Jim Croce and James Taylor, Simon and Garfunkel, and Billy Joel and Elton Rocked that decade too.

I was born in 73 so until I was older, I listened to whatever my parents did (which was really twangy country music).
But as far as that era, my personal faves would be Pink Floyd, Queen, Boston, Led Zeppelin, the Eagles, Kiss, Blondie, Heart, The Doors and Rush.
(props to you david for adding Aerosmith-i love them too)
