No,not for Dinesh Karthick........
I think if Dhoni doesn't get to play due to an injury, he might get a break in the team after a long gap.
And Yuvraj is special in his own right, but the problem is that we have a bunch of guys who are already performing well as a unit.SO I don't think that unless Ganguly or Dravid or Tendulkar retire or if one of the openers or other middle order players fail, Yuvraj will get a chance to play.
He will only be a bench player for another year or so in my views. And it is healthy competition bcoz u know that you've got a more than capable lad on the bench waiting to jump onto the first team.
Look at Australia, Langer left, in came Jacques and scored a couple of centuries on debut. That is what bench strength is.And India is just beginning to find a bunch of youngsters who are as capable if not more capable than the current crop of players.A time will come when they will get the break. And the chance to perform will fall into their hands.

D Karthik had been doing good until this match in the test matches so far this year. If Karthik had the technique to survive the new ball in England, he certainly does have the technique to survive the new ball in India. We need to give him some more time and chances. This is the same mistake that selectors do. Even in the past, the selectors have not persisted with any opener who has looked good. The selectors have chopped and changed the opening slot. And, that is not good for the confidence of a batsman at the top of the order.

I agree Yuvi is in good form too. He is in a purple patch of his career. But replacing him with Karthik, and that too as an opener would not be such a good idea. I cant see any other player who is intended in opening the batting other than Jaffer and Karthik in this current squad.

Yuvraj is in top form otherwise the form of his life time. So Team India has to utilize most of it. But we cant replace Sachin ,Ganguly , Dravid or Laxman. These vettarans again prooved in first test how important were their experiances to Team India.
Dinesh Kartik was failed to score in both innings but remember he was the top run scorer in previous series against England.Give one more chance him.
If Yuvraj be selected in place of Karthik he has to open the innings. Dont forget Yuvi is a StrockMaker. His best position is in Middle orders. Technics to open a innings is really different than to bat in middle order. I think it would be very difficult for him to open the innings.
If selectors want to move Dinesh Karthik call back Virender Shewang who had a very good record against Pakisthan. Yuvi has to wait some bit to enter in test squad.

there is no need to replace yuvraj in place of dinesh kartik cz dhoni is already injured and dinesh will be in as a wicket keeper, so yuvraj might replace dhoni not dinesh kartik. also why should dinesh be replaced when he has done good in last matches and you cant just go by his one poor performance.

Yuvraj is a good a good player .But, he is not slated to open an Innings.Kartik has all the materials required of an opener. He needs more encouragement and a little more time to show his excellence.

i think karthik should be given a chance.bcoz we should nt decide about player ina single match.he is capabale of scoring match winning hundreds as well as a top class fielder.

yuvi might be the best player in the country, but his time of getting into the test team is nt yet came.
