All you need is to buy a wireless router to match the wireless card in the laptop. Connect the router to the modem. Just follow the instructions.

Get a wireless router and away you go. Any doubts - talk to your broadband supplier they should be willing and able to help. Pop into your local PC shop for some advice on routers (but try to go on a weekday and not on a Saturday). Put your question into a search engine to get some some tips on wireless - but there really is not much to it. Good luck.

Nothing to it - pretty well all laptops have a built in wireless modem in them in simple-speak a radio transmitter/receiver

You need to buy another radio/transmitter - Router - to connect to your phone line or cable

The you have to persuade the two to communicate with each other

The laptop needs to know what the router calls itself - its SSID
and so no-one else can get at it its password - wireless key

The laptop should have Internet explorer on it and Windows has a programme for you to input the router data

Have a chat with PC World staff or much better as they seem to know more go to a Maplin Electronics shop try their website

what you need to do is call your supplyer and ask them if they offer a free wireless modem if not got to pc world and you can buy a package for 59.99 for the wireless router and adapter if you are really unsure what to do they will also come and install it for you for 69.99 i think that includes the price of router i would ask
and as long as your daughters laptop is wireless enabled she will connect to it

hope this helps
