Its a mythical bird
but some say it is based upon a cross between a cormorant and an eagle. It always has seaweed ot leaves in its mouth.

It's the Liver Bird. It is the city symbol of Liverpool, and has been snce the formation of the city. It is on the top of many buildings around the city, most notably the Liver Building.
