I took this IQ Test: http://community.sparknotes.com/iq/

I got 75, do you think I can increase it if I go back to college as a mature student? I've been out of school for a few years... now I have doubts that when I have to learn new things it will never "snap into my brain" and learn.

Don't take a test taken over the internet as truth! Many of them are NOT accurate. Of course you can go to college. I would check out a local community college--not only is it easier to get in (not SAT or ACT), but the average age is older and you will be more comfortable. Start out by taking 1 or 2 classes; one should be English and one something you like that will apply toward a degree. You have the option to get a vocational technical degree (AS) or an AA which allows you to transfer to a four-year college. I started as a community college as an "older student" and did VERY well. I have very fond memories of my CC days, and encourage you to check it out. Go in and talk to the admissions people--they are used to people who are going back to school after being out for awhile. Best wishes for your success!

Those online IQ tests aren't accurate. If you were to take a genuine IQ test, and did not do well, you could still go to a community college, yes. And if you did well there, and graduated, you could go on to a four year college.

IQ tests are kind of funny things. It's possible that you bombed one section or even two - perhaps those having to do with math - and did well on others - maybe those having to do with writing and reading. This happened to a student. She did very, very well on the writing and reading related portions, and God-awful, absolute crap on anything having to do with math or spacial relations, etc. So her overall IQ wasn't very good. And yet she went to community college, took classes that interested her, struggled through the math (and got through it with tutoring), and graduated with good grades. She's now looking at four year schools. She IS smart - she's just *unbelievably* bad at anything even related to math, and that flushed her IQ test right down the toilet.

So even if your IQ test isn't great, you can go to cc. Just focus your coursework on things that you *are* good at, and don't be afraid to ask for tutoring in subjects that aren't your strengths. Maybe just take one or two classes that first semester, and see how you do (as that student I mentioned did, her first term.)

If you really had an IQ of 75 you would not have been able to write that paragraph. Don't believe online tests!

anyone can go to college.

start at a community college, use the programs they have available, and know that those online tests aren't always accurate, and having a lower IQ doesn't mean you aren't intelligent.

You might try a community college or a trade school like ITT tech and see how it goes.

Sorry, but IQ, is Intellegence Quotient. It is something that you can not study to improve. An IQ of 75, puts you in the Idiot range, not college material! (Hopefully this was a joke ...or I am terribly embarrassed for answering).

If George W. Bush could get through college, anyone can.
