I want to change my last name because I hate it, it's so embarrasing and I want to be an actress. I've talked to my dad about it and he's like "you should be proud to have that name" but I don't really like my dad for what he did to me when I was little, should I change it? And if so what name goes with the first name "Lauren" okay thank u!!

Why can't people learn to embrace their names? That name has a long history behind it. IF you ever become an actress, then let your agent help you decide if you should change your name. Just leave it be. Besides, when you get married, it'll be changed then.
I did answer your "f-ing" question. DON'T CHANGE IT! Do you really think you are the first person to have to deal with a funny last name? Trust me, you aren't and you definitely won't be the last. Watch your language and learn to post your questions in the correct section. This is not a "baby name" you are asking about.

If you know you want to change your name, then why is that the question? Your question should be "What last name goes with Lauren?" Good luck!

If you become an actress and join the actors guild or whatever it's called, you'll need to have a name that no one else has (it's a rule). Wait to change it until you reach that point--otherwise you might just end up having to change it again.

Lauren,
If you hate your name, by all means, change it. You don't need anyone's permission when you reach 18. It sounds like you have 2 issues here - the name itself and your relationship with your dad. Changing your name won't change that, please seek help for the emotional baggage.
Sorry, I don't have any suggestions for a new name. You need to decide what fits your personality.

Your last name is your History, it's your heritage! It is who you are and part of where you came from. I'm sorry that you view it as an embarrassment.
If you "really don't like your dad for what he did to you when you were little.".... then why did you consult him on the name change, obviously his opinion does not matter to you.
If you feel that your last name is going to keep you from becoming an actress and you won't feel guilty about being ashamed of who you are and the name you were given... then change it.
Otherwise... drop the last name and simple use your first and middle name when you are a "Movie Star".

do what you need to do to feel better about yourself. however there are actresses with some silly last names that have been great and proud of there last name. it is a ton of work and some money to change your last name also. and when you get married you will be able to take your husbands last name. if i were you i'd wait and see what the future brings

Umm..I take it that your dad 'did to you when you were little' wasn't good, so in that case I feel it would be up to you. You could however, instead of completely changing your last name, tie it in with your 'new' last name. As far as new names that go with Lauren, just about anything would. I would say it is VERY costly to do though. Good luck to you in everything!

If you feel that strongly about it, go ahead. Many names go with Lauren. Kennedy, Fitzgerald, Lee, Morrow, and Fleming all go with Lauren nicely. You can use most anything.
